Temple University, Philadelphia, PA

Community participation and inclusion are important aspects of people's lives, yet many people with significant health conditions are largely excluded from participation. While health and human services have not always supported the value of this participation, there is increasing evidence to support that it should be viewed as a medical necessity. This session will identify domains of community participation that are important to people with serious mental illnesses. Additionally, this session will identify how service providers can support community inclusion and participation.
